Anyone heard of this or better yet, used it consistently?
My boyfriend’s brother got to attend NAMM last year and came home with freebies including this device called Rite Tone. He thought I’d have better use for it and gave it to me. It basically looks like a big motorized mute that plugs into the wall. Reminds me of an air pump on a fish tank. The purpose of it is to bring out the “full potential” of your instrument…I guess all the vibrations along with playing it for the recommended 72-144 hours is supposed to break in the wood quicker.
Maybe I’ll start putting it on my violin for a specific amount of time a day as I play, but it really does mute out how full my violin is, and I like it loud \m/ …hard to see the forest through there trees 🙂

addendum to the above…I was thinking the device has to be on the instrument while playing it but after rereading instructions a few more times I realize that it is actually supposed to be on it continuously while NOT playing it…that’s easy! May do a before and after video…
