    Hi Michael,
You know I love the Elda Marina, but as I was listening to you play Canon in D I was really taken with the sound of the instrument – which violin is that?…I really love the sound (of course you play it just beautifully!)…but what I’m wondering is if you could tell me which violin it is and compare it with the Elda Marina? For some reason I’m thinking its the Tia Bruna….?

Both the Elda Marina and the Tia Bruna are great sounding violins, I’ll go into detail about the comparisons.

The Elda Marina is a deeper sounding violin than the Tia Bruna, as the Marina is the finest deep sounding violin I have ever found under $3,000. The customer response from the Marina has been one of the best I’ve ever had for the price range.

The Tia Bruna also has awesome sound qualities, and is very comparable to the the sound of the Marina (although very different). It doesn’t quite have as much depth as the Marina, but can shine in other areas. The Bruna has more of a projection than the Marina, and has been preferred by some players that are looking for more of a balance of depth and projection. Both instruments are great values for their respective price points. Great question!
