    Using Suzuki Book II Tonalization exercise, you can fine tune your intonation by listening for the ringing quality of notes that have the same name as an open string. Open strings vibrate sympathetically when you play notes of the same letter names perfectly in tune.

    Thanks for demonstrating this, I think my teacher here in Kansas City has tried to teach me this but I was not grasping it. He was also having me listen to the sympathetic vibration coming from the piano in the room. Very helpful and it is nice to finally see your face!

    Lol. I just thought there were people running up and down the stairs and didn’t think of hammering. XD Thanks for showing us. 🙂 One of my favorite things to do was to see what I needed to do to make the notes ring.
