Some of you know that a week-and-a half ago the tip broke on my good Pernambuco bow as I was practicing and I sent it back to the vender to be evaluated to be replaced. Well, I have been informed that the bow is indeed covered by the warranty and I should be receiving a new Guy Laurent ***Three Star*** bow within the next week.

I just got a text! The bow will be here tomorrow and the package requires a signature! It will be mine! Now I need to sit down before I fall down.

Excellent. I’m looking forward to hearing (seeing?) a tune from you using your new bow.

Actually… some of the stuff I put on the forum was recorded with the three star bow… the one that broke. This one for example… http://www.violintutorpro.com/topic/ashokan-farewell-3/

I am waiting for the FedEx guy to drive up now!

I’m too excited to concentrate on practice today, so I guess I will take an unscheduled day off. Practice without concentration (mindless practice) is a waste of time, so… perhaps I will tie a few flies instead. (I am a fly fisherman too!) Or maybe I will read a book… or make some posts here on VTP …or just pace the floor.

It’s here! I’ve already fueled (rosined) her up and taken her for a test drive.

    Oh, yeah!

Congrats, William! You deserve it. I don’t know the story about your bow tip breakage, but that should not just randomly happen. The tip of the bow is the most sensitive to damage, but I can’t imagine you doing careless things with your bow. Glad they will replace it! Three stars means high quality!

Here’s a link to quality pernambuco bows from Superior Violins. Just sayin’ 🙂

I have the Luger bow in my sights… after I get my next new violin from Superior Violins. I have a wish-list already made up. A list of 3 more violins (different voices to keep it more interesting), accessories, and sheet music.
