I’m sorry to hear that j12mejor! I hope it heals up for you soon! There are creative ways to practice productively, so long as the injury is not debilitating. You don’t want to push too hard and strain yourself though. Are you just looking to re-strengthen your finger or are you looking for ways to practice without using that finger? This might be a good time to focus on sight reading/music theory….non playing musicianship!
I am working on restrengthening the finger, for me it is my left pinky not index, and have given in to the pain of playing while standing. Sitting doesn’t seem to allow me to move as freely, although others have said there is a noticeable improvement in my bow usage… Actually, I would also like to work on not looking so stern when I play! The pleasure of the music should be visible on my face!
