Interesting that he composed all five of his violin concertos at age nineteen. Suppose he wanted to please his domineering father? “Oh I’d better get this over with and please the man now.” Or just a rebellious streak that outlasted his own fathers lifetime?

    The fencing violinist
The surviving scores, and few recordings of Chevalier de Saint-Georges’ music are a refreshing piece of history for 18th century violin study. Do you believe his works rival contemporaries of his era, or is all just a bit too flashy of a decoration for your taste?

Would be beautiful to make an arrangement of “The Flower Duet (Lakmé)” by Léo Delibes for violin and viola.

I love how the third movement of Brahms Violin Concerto in D major was used in the film There Will Be Blood. End Credits

    decimated romantic

    Pound the Pleyel piano
just too much wax in the ears
truth is you found the fear

    Not quite classical
    more a dismantled dubstep
    says ‘reach for the sky’

When I did – it shocked my fingers
was just a leap in faith
    it turned out a lie

    but, never again!

Took a jump off my tower
dived in the crushing compression below
    Seemed slow at first
    too soon my body burst

    Insipid zig-zag blades below me
I’m just a jerk falling from above
    those dotted rhythms
    amass yearly matter,
    or rather, sear the rapture

I – really miss my cat Sancho. He would jump on the keyboard controller. I’d program his large polyphonic chords. Sancho would then attempt to sleep on my work as Eccentric lil’ Mami tried to find the thinnest string of a real piano to balance herself to sleep on. “It’s just a digital sample Mami. Not a real clavier silly!” She tilted her head in half question mark expressions. Sweet cats.

… to, Sir Sancho the Squirrel Slayer
