Hey guys! Yeah, the most time I want to spend on practicing is between 6-10 hours. I know I could do more, but I think I really need a better bow. Although, my violin, from the start, is not an American made violin. I do not feel bad that I did not purchase a high end violin, but when I hear you play the Tia Bruna Michael, I wish I had this one.

My daughter has been playing longer than I have, and as a consequence, I get frustrated by what *I* percieve as slow progress in myself. Its good to see the checklist and have a reminder of where I may be lacking in my efforts.

I look forward to my practice time, whether it’s 15 minutes or 2 hours. It’s my “me” time. My goal is 30 minutes a day. Some days, I run out of time…then it’s a 10 or 15 minute session. Like Kevin, if I’m too exhausted, I log on and read a few of Michael’s articles or watch his video lessons. Either way, I’m learning all the time. I just upgraded my violin to the Vitale, but I’m already looking forward to upgrading again…to a Tia Bruno or Damiano…just because of the improvements I saw with this upgrade. It’s so exciting to see such results. Reading about like-minded individuals on this forum is icing on the cake. Thank you all!

Kevin… Keep up the good work! You’re already a bigger and better musician than you think!

I was in the same boat once upon a time. My first violin was a $50 eBay unit. I used for just over a year to learn the basics. A few months ago, I finally upgraded to a Viviano Vitale through Michael Sanchez and Superior Violins. They offer a Try Before You Buy program and a payment plan. If playing violin is your passion, then try a violin from Superior Violins. You deserve it! I know I’m happy I did. I love to practice now and my skills show it.

But I’m buying new strings for the first time, so this shall be interesting. Might look for a video of yours to teach me how. 🙂
