I still have and love the violin I learned on when I was 12-years-old. It is an old, factory produced instrument from Japan, and it’s now over 100-years-old. Inside, the label says, “Made in Nippon.” Although it was not originally an expensive violin, it has an amazing sound quality for an instrument in its class. My parents purchased it from a friend of theirs who was their choir director — and an excellent violinist. At this point I am focusing on the viola, so I have not played it in awhile, and quite frankly, it’s going to need a trip to the luthier before I can play it again. This violin has such memories for me . . .
