No, not ‘outer space’, just a hi from me ~
I’m ‘Space’, an Audio Engineer located right over in Nebraska. I grew up playing violin, but grew out of it when school took up most of my time. Now that I work in the music/audio field, I’d love to get back into it! Hopefully learning violin a second time will prove to be if only the slightest bit easier. Of course, the first thing is to get myself a violin!~
It’s great to find this little community, and I look forward to being around more often!January 30, 2016 at 7:31 pm #11522
I’m `glad to know I’m not the only one restarting later in life. I’m hoping it will be sort of like riding a bike, that it comes back quickly with practice. I was encouraged that I remembered enough that it has really helped me progress more quickly than usual in learning piano, which is what I wanted most as a kid. That reawakened the desire to get back to violin as well.January 31, 2016 at 5:46 am #11599
I’d absolutely love to get a violin now that one of the things I do is write music. I’d love to write lovely violin music that’s recorded with an actual violin! Plugins just aren’t the same, especially when you, in theory, know how to play the instrument yourself!February 2, 2016 at 3:06 pm #11767
You’re not the only one to quit after school. I did it too. I quit after I graduated from high school and in October 2015, I started again after a 41 year hiatus. Welcome to the group!February 5, 2016 at 3:11 am #12009
I more or less quit because of school, rather. Classes, and other life stresses at the time really limited what I could do. Now I’m at a time where it’d definitely be beneficial for me to get back into it, sooner rather than later if I’m lucky!February 5, 2016 at 3:16 pm #12076
Hi there Space,
I think you, William, and I need to start a quitters club. Good for you trying to get back into it…I’m still working on establishing a routine. William on the other hand just broke his bow because he’s practicing so much!
Good luck!February 6, 2016 at 1:32 pm #12253
Hi there! I quit about 4 years ago and started again in 2014. For me it was like riding a bike and I was able to pick it back up again without a lot of trouble, but it probably differs between people.February 6, 2016 at 7:24 pm #12278
I can only hope it’ll be that easy. It’s been a long while, and I’m definitely going to have to build up my technique once again.February 8, 2016 at 9:01 pm #12644
