I’ve been in KY since 1968 which is when I stopped playing violin. Just recently restarted when I decided to try a violin after not winning one of Michael’s contests yet again, but he was generous about payment terms so what seemed impossible became possible. I took violin lessons from about 1960 to 68 in Rockford, Illinois. Wish I could remember the name of my teacher. He was from Latvia and lived near East High School and taught out of his home in a very small room at the top of a stairway. Does anyone remember the name of a violin teacher of this description?
I loved in Edwardsville for a couple years but never was in Rockford, to my knowledge. Sounds like a wonderful story to write! Good luck on finding your teacher. You might do a google or facebook search.
