Welome to the forum Lorna. I, too, have had a love of the violin since childhood. Recently a friend has lent me their violin and I am saving for one of my own. Good luck!

Hey Lorna ! I’ve been playing for about 4 months now. It was tough learning the basics I must say. Being in an apartment building certainly doesn’t help haha. It’s fairly unnatural the way you hold the instrument. Very unlike guitar which I have played for 12 years. However just like when I learned guitar it comes in stages. You have small break through every couple months that give you the encouragement to keep at it and practice harder :-). It is a very technical instrument and mostly because of the bow but once u can play a song or two I’m sure you will be hooked :-). Best of luck !!
