Are any of you following a method of learning the fiddle such as Mark O’Connor Method or Fiddle for Dummies or another?

I’m using the American Fiddle Method along with Suzuki book 1. At least the fiddle songs are ones I can understand since most have words and songs I’m used to playing on banjo. I like the American Fiddle Method.

I started using the Fiddle for Dummies book then the advanced fiddling book by Craig Duncan. It’s a good fun way to play and still work on advancing my skills. I don’t seem to get old bad thinking habits and tensions triggered as easily with fiddle music as I do with classical music. I enjoy playing fiddle music more but prefer classical or popular music for listening. If I could just play the classical well enough that I enjoyed listening to my own playing!
