    Arlene Michaels

    Hello all!
I have a beginner student (17 yrs old) who has broken many of her left hand fingers. This specifically makes her pinky lock up, and is painful for her to place it where it should go. I insured that her other fingers were in the right place, but it still hurts her.
Anyhow, I was wanting to know if any of you have experience in it. Any exercises that she can do, different bow hold? I have never had a student who had this.

I recommend she see an occupational or physical therapist who is also a certified hand specialist. At that young age, she should have therapy to make sure she regains full use of the fingers.

I completely agree. She needs to see an occupational therapist. They specialize in rehabilitating the hand. Don’t recommend any exercises. Leave all advice to the medical prpfessionals.
