Does anyone have any suggestions for some good bluegrass tunes? Its one of my favourite genres to play on fiddle, and I am eager to learn more about it.

The Devil’s Dream Hoedown is the first bluegrass/fiddle piece that i learned. It’s pretty simple and great fun.

“Backup and Push” is a great tune to learn. It will help master several techniques you’ll need to play bluegrass music.

I love Whiskey Before Breakfast, Devils Dream, Sally’s Got Mud Between Her Toes, Old Groundhog, Lazy John, Granny Does Your Dog Bite and Ragtime Annie just to name a few. I am not sure if all of those are considered Bluegrass but definitely good tunes to learn.

Found an interesting tune the other day. Granny Hold the Candle While I Shave the Chicken’s Lip. Cute song. You can see it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMT3J-Sun5E&list=PLHORbyarz4yTe1OTaqFFFLaLVXVIcCoHd&index=39

Went to a festival in Lowell MA today. Great workshop on oldtime fiddle bowing technique.
