Hello, I’m new to this site but have been browsing the forums for the past couple of weeks. I haven’t found any discussion about different methods of preventing the A and E string from cutting into the bridge.
My violin came with those little black tubes, which, according to my ‘research’, seems to be highly discouraged by many. I dislike them because they cause a slight rustle (even though they are as far behind the bridge as possible), and they tone down the fullness of the sound.
I’ve heard of using crazy glue, parchment, ebony inserts, vellum…
Does anyone have any advice on a method that works for them? Is the crazy glue reliable?
    Thanks a lot!
