My dad who is now passed had a really good ear for music as he used to sing and play the accordion. One of his favorite old songs to sing was “The war ship had landed.” I put my daughter ( now 26)into violin lessons through her school . She took it for about 3 years . She surprised my dad one day by coming to visit and playing “the war ship had landed” on her violin. He was practically in tears. Another memory was she had older brothers and she ran out of rosin. Her older brother decided that the turtle wax we used for our car had to work just as well lol. I can hear her now crying as then we had to invest in new strings. Her violin was stolen after that, so her music career was short lived. She has always said she would like to take it up again one day. I’m hoping I will win for her. Thanks.
