You should never clean the bow unless you are talking about just wiping rosin off the stick. The hair should remain rosined and the only way you should take rosin off would be by taking your finger and flicking the back of the hairs. Other than that, you should keep the top of the bow hairs untouched, and consider getting a bow re-hair if the hair is dirty. Try to always grab the bow by the stick only, and avoid touching the hair as much as possible.
