Maybe a mute would help? My Lab will lay next to me while I’m playing if I use a mute. If I play without it, she’s out of there. I like the stories about people’s pets, especially the one about Lady howling when the playing wasn’t going well. It makes you wonder if she sensed frustration. There’s a great fiddle book called, “Old-Time Fiddle for the Complete Ignoramus” by Wayne Erbsen. He writes about how his worst critic is living right in his home……his dog.
