I don’t think it would be terribly difficult to find others to “jam” with in your local area. Go to craigslist or ask local musicians if they know of ways to connect with other musicians in the area. All it takes is finding one partner and then growing from there! Playing duet music is a lot of fun, you could find someone right at your level that would enjoy just playing through stuff with you. Also you could find a pianist to play with which always is a lot of fun and can sound wonderful. Try to find players that are just as good or better than you as being with someone that is further behind isn’t quite as fun. I also like to play with players that have good solid rhythm, so we can nail the music in proper timing. Nothing like music in sync with others!
