I’ve started playing for about 6 months now. My first lesson starts with the D string. At first I thought it was probably normal that the strings hurt but after a few months and after I started to play on other strings, A string and E string, I noticed that only my D- string hurts when press on it

I have no problem playing on the other than the D-string for a prolonged period of time.

Also there are times when I have to borrow a violin from my class teacher…and I try playing on the D string. It doesn’t hurt at all. So I took a look at the bridge and it is clearly sanded.

I’m truly sorry but what is playing repertoire? I’m still a greeny at this.

(sorry for the low quality pictures. I have a cheap phone with no good camera)
