I got mine almost 50 years ago in Germany, and took it with me to Utah. A few years later I was in the Golden Spike Youth Orchestra, and we performed in Philadelphia for the Bicentennial in 1976. Since then, however, it’s been a stay at home fiddle. My kids took it to school when they were learning, but they didn’t do anything terribly exciting. Traveling with a violin these days is nerve wracking, between airlines giving you a hard time and customs having a problem with the parts that might be ivory or ebony…
