Great to find all you adult learners on here. I took up the violin at 52 years old, three months ago. It was a bucket list thing, too. I have had trouble seeing my music (bifocals) so I had to reprint my technique book (I have a teacher I see in person and he recommends this book) in large print with a photocopier.
Has anyone tried using a chromatic tuner clipped onto the scroll for feedback instead of looking at the fingerboard? Currently I have tapes on my fingerboard that my teacher placed, but have added the chromatic tuner hoping it will gives me ore accurate feedback on my articulation . It is also easier for this old gal to see. Hoping then eventually muscle memory and sound memory will kick in..
