I stopped playing the violin for several years due to a problem with performance anxiety. They have better solutions now than they did when I was in high school. I began with three octave scales, of course, a few easy etudes and then started taking lessons. Within a few years I was playing with a community orchestra and still play in my church. I enjoy playing now more than I did when I was young. I am more appreciative of the ability to play with others and even enjoy practicing. It did take a while to be able to sight read again due to a long period of inactivity. However, the experience has been worth the struggle! I believe you will find that it may start a bit slow, but eventually you will recover the time that you have lost. Best of luck!
