Hi! I would recommend just starting! Open the case, check the instrument for any necessary repairs, tune it up and start playing. After you do that, you can assess the next steps. Your practice should include drills for warming up the fingers. Some kind of etude or easy melodic, but technique oriented pieces and a major piece of literature, like Handel Sonatas or Vivaldi Concertos, depending on your level. Also, there’s scale work. For folks getting started again, I find sometimes the hardest part is opening the violin case.
