I played pretty well when I was in junior high school and high school but quit for various reasons. Always wanted to learn piano but my parents wanted me to play another instrument. My father was a very accomplished pianist. I inherited his piano and began taking lessons. I have very small hands and am having difficulty reaching some of the chords in the more difficult pieces I’m beginning to tackle, but have progressed quickly partly due to finding I remembered quite a bit from what I’d learned playing violin. I’m thinking I might enjoy it again and remember that my small hands weren’t a problem with violin. Unfortunately my violins were stollen, so I’m hoping to win one through this contest. I will still continue with piano, too. I enjoy it tremendously.
