Candas… I hope you don’t think you’re too old. I’m 50 and just started playing a little over a year ago. I’m DEFINITELY the oldest in my “class”. My teacher has my lesson scheduled at the end of the day, after all of her little kids. She says she looks forward to my lesson time because 1) I’m an adult and can focus, 2) we cover a lot more material than her younger students, thus move along faster, and 3) she gets to play the longer, more complicated pieces with me. We have a lot of fun. Our lesson time is over in no time and we have to make ourselves stop. Enjoy the learning process, people! No matter your age, it’s a gift to yourself and those who have the privilege of hearing you play.
