Keeping the wrist straight during vibrato, or shifts for that matter, will be easier if you are holding the violin with the head only. Practice holding the violin securely with only the head, and let the hand go free, away from the neck of the violin. Then be sure when you’re playing that you maintain this. Add vibrato to a good violin position and your wrist should stay straight.
